EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017: Around the Grounds

By Fred Harl
The Aero Experience EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 coverage traditionally begins with a tour around the grounds from the weekend before opening day.  As usual, it was cloudy much of the time, which only adds to the charm of watching the final setup preparations come together.  In today's report, we include unique views of the first weekend and a few more interesting encounters experienced during the week that can be classified as "Only at Oshkosh."

The first stop on our pre-opening tour is Sleepy Hollow Farm Camp Grounds near the main gate.  We have been staying at Sleepy Hollow Farm since 2013, and we highly recommend them for their customer service and hospitality.  The owners and staff have made our experience at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh enjoyable and productive.  Contact them for next year's RV and cabin reservations.

The EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 grounds offer some memorable sights, including the famous "Brown Arch," World's Busiest Control Tower, scooters, golf carts and porta-potties as far as the eye can see, and a path to follow in every direction.  There are even messages in the sky!
