Southwestern Illinois College Hosts Manufacturing Day for High School Students

By Carmelo Turdo
Southwestern Illinois College held a Manufacturing Day event at their Granite City campus on October 4. Over 1400 high school students rotated through the event throughout the morning and early afternoon, visiting with exhibitors, touring the training facilities and having lunch under a large, outdoor tent. Local companies provided attractive displays and practical demonstrations of their products to encourage the students to consider careers in the skilled trades.

The Aero Experience coverage of Manufacturing Day includes this look at the gathering of students, exhibitors and campus tours, including some views of the Aviation Maintenance hangar and the new SWIC Avionics Program classroom.
