Scott AFB Centennial Airshow Soars Over the Sunny Midwest

By Mark Nankivil
The Scott Air Force Base 2017 Centennial Celebration continued Saturday with the high-flying airshow that brought record crowds under a blue Midwestern sky.  The airshow lineup included a variety of military and civilian aerial performers, with military static display aircraft from across the country.  The Aero Experience continues our coverage with a look at some of the activity on Saturday apart from the headlining USAF Thunderbirds.  We appreciate all those who are making this a great Midwest airshow, and check back for more coverage this week.

Scott AFB Military Appreciation and Media Day Gives First Look at Weekend Airshow

By Mark Nankivil
Scott Air Force Base opened its arms to military families, veterans and the media Friday for an advanced look at the weekend Centennial Airshow preparations.  Along with the headlining USAF Thunderbirds, a significant number of military aircraft were on static display, and the airshow performers ran through their maneuvers for the visitors.  Featured here are some of the aircraft on the ground and in the air, along with a KC-46A simulator session with Jack Nankivil. The Aero Experience thanks the Scott AFB Command and Public Affairs staff for their hospitality.
