It is an absolute crying shame that both Carl Icahn and the TWA800 crash ultimately caused the demise of Trans World Airlines. Before they were gutted and cast aside by American Airlines, we had the delightful pleasure of seeing the likes of the B747, and L1011 coming and going at KSTL. Also that was when the fabulous 94th Aero Squadron was still standing before that too became a victim of runway extensions, security and other concocted reasons for tearing it down! Halycon days they were.
