Visit to Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum Reveals Vintage Aircraft Treasures

By Carmelo Turdo
The Midwest Aviation community preserves its aviation history at a vast array of airports and aviation museums, large and small, across the region.  One of the must-see Midwest Aviation museums is the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum, located at Creve Coeur Airport (Dauster Flying Field) in St. Louis County, MO.  The Aero Experience visits the museum periodically and adds more photos to our coverage, and we have a few more here from our visit Saturday.  The museum contains four hangars full of nearly 50 meticulously restored vintage aircraft of the Golden Age of Flight (1920s-30s era), some of which fly at events throughout the Midwest.  The museum regularly hosts fly-ins by the American Waco Club and Monocoupe Club - coverage of those events can also be found on The Aero Experience.  Here are a few more photos of some aircraft on display, but there is no substitute for visiting the museum in person!
