The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015: Boeing Plaza - Airbus A350-900

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015 visitor will quickly gravitate to Boeing Plaza, the central apron in the public access area, to check out the day's display aircraft selection.  It is a dynamic place, where crowds gather and aircraft are rotated in and out throughout the day.  We will start our current mini-series on the aircraft displayed in Boeing Plaza with the Airbus A350-900.  It arrived on Monday during the afternoon airshow and showed off it's slow-speed maneuverability within full view of the audience.  It was on display in Boeing Plaza through Wednesday prior to another airshow performance and departure.

During the time it was on display in Boeing Plaza, thousands of people toured the A350.  This new Airbus jetliner (serial no. 2) is on a promotional tour of the U.S. and has already been ordered by United and Delta Airlines.  The A350 touts advanced technology in construction, aerodynamics, fuel consumption and flight controls.  The "extra wide body" designation is used to describe the 221-inch cross-section of the passenger cabin, which includes a more effective air management system and lower noise levels.  The 219-feet long airliner can carry 325 passengers on flights over 7,500 miles.

Below are some views of the Airbus A350-900 in Boeing Plaza.  A future post will feature the A350 airshow sequence.
