Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Boeing Centennial Plaza - F-15C Eagle

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo Aero Experience coverage of the static display aircraft in Boeing Centennial Plaza at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016 continues with the appearance of the McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle.  The jet was from the 122nd Fighter Squadron of the 159th Fighter Wing based at NAS JRB New Orleans.  The wing has deployed regularly in combat areas on recent years, and upgraded from F-15A to F-15C Eagles in 2006.  The wing serves the USNORTHCOM air defense mission.

The F-15C arrived on Monday morning and landed about 11:30am following several flybys over the runway.  The pilot, Major Ben "Evil" Cook, visited with the gathering crowd as the jet was positioned in the plaza.  He gave several informative talks by the aircraft during the week, and the Eagle was available for public access through Friday.
