In this first installment, we take a look around the grounds to show the crowds gathering and enjoying the airshows throughout the week. Different perspectives are featured here from various places along the crowd line, and these locations will become more familiar to you throughout our airshow coverage. The AirVenture culture, including the practice of staking out your claim by placing your folded lawn chair along the crowd line hours in advance, is plainly visible here. Tens of thousands of people from around the globe gather around the aircraft for a good viewing spot and become family for at least a few hours each day. For a little while, all is right with the world!
Monday: View from the photo stand to the right of show center.
Wednesday: View from show center and near Patrick McAlee's parked Blue Demon.
Thursday: View from left of show center.
Friday: Views from left of show center, with Patrick McAlee, shelter from the rain in the IAC Vicki Cruse Memorial Pavilion and back for the rest of the show.
Saturday: Views from left of show center and with Patrick McAlee.
There is really no bad seat in the house, as they say. During our extensive airshow coverage, we will include views from along the crowd line, in the elevated photo stands and from within the crowd itself. We will also include some of the performers we met along the way during the week. Check back often for continued EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 airshow coverage posted along with coverage of other Midwest Aviation events!
