Wings Over St. Louis Offers Ride of a Lifetime In World War II Era Aircraft

By Carmelo Turdo
The Fifth Annual Wings Over St. Louis was held Memorial Day Weekend at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, MO. For three days, the public was invited to get a close look at World War II era former military aircraft and reserve rides on two of the three aircraft operated by the Missouri Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) - the TBM Avenger torpedo bomber and B-25 Mitchell medium bomber named Show Me. Flights were conducted around the St. Louis area, including over Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

The Aero Experience coverage from Saturday includes static displays of the Missouri Wing CAF Aeronca L-3E, a T-28A Trojan, AT-6G Texan and military vehicles and equipment. We also show the afternoon launch of the B-25 and TBM flights.
