Fly Now! The Movie Crew On the Road to Sun'n Fun: Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame Museum

The Fly Now! The Movie crew is travelling to Sun'n Fun, visiting interesting places along the way.  Today's leg of the trip from St. Louis included a stop at the Museum of Aviation and Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA.  The crew toured the museum's extensive air park and the Century of Flight Hangar where we met a very interesting gentleman serving as docent.  Mr. Arthur "Red" Adams took a few minutes to talk with Director Jeff Wilson and Executive Producer Brian Kissinger about his experience as a B-24 Liberator bomber tail gunner in World War II and as an A-26 gunner during a year of occupation in Japan.  Mr. Adams is but one of the many people we will meet along the way while producing Fly Now! The Movie.

Thunder Over Louisville Preview

Thunder Over Louisville will officially begin tomorrow, but The Aero Experience was on site today at our observation post at Waterfront Park on the banks of the Ohio River for the orientation flights by the performers in the air show box.  Highlights include appearances by the USMC Harrier Demonstration Team, Jay "Flash" Gordon's L-39, Kentucky Air National Guard C-130 airdrop, U.S. Army Golden Knights, Canadian Harvards Aerobatic Team, Billy Werth's Pitts S-2C, Greg Colyer's T-33 Shooting Star "Ace Maker," formation flight with the P-51 Mustang, F-86 Sabre and T-33, Lee Leet's Super Tucano, Trojan Horsemen T-28 Team and an amphibian Carbon Cub performing several landings in the river.  Here is a sample of the air show coming Saturday.

     

  

      

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014 Meets "Fly Now! The Movie": The Pietenpol Air Camper

They say you can see almost any airplane type at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and over the last several years we have not been disappointed.  This year will bring an added dimension to The Aero Experience coverage - joining the Fly Now! The Movie crew to document the adventures of Piety the Pietenpol visiting from 
St. Louis.  In recognition of the opening of Piety's airshow season with our departure to Sun'n Fun this weekend, we look back at the Pietenpol Air Campers we saw at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014: Amphibians

The Aero Experience coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014 continues with a focus on amphibian aircraft that can operate from water or land,  hulled or on floats.  During the week, we saw amphibians ranging from 1940s-era Widgeons, Albatrosses from the 1950s, and modern homebuilts and factory float planes.  We present a sample of these unique aircraft in the spirit of welcoming spring and water recreation!
