Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

Greetings!

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Blue skies,

Air Combat Museum In Springfield, IL Receives Stearman, Embarks on Painting Projects

By Carmelo Turdo
The Air Combat Museum, sponsored by George Alarm Company, has received a 1928 Stearman C3-B, one of the few remaining pre-Boeing Stearman aircraft.  The aircraft is in immaculate condition, and joins the other flying aircraft at the museum in Springfield, IL.  Also, several painting projects are underway.  The wings of the museum's P-51D, "Worry Bird," are  being repainted, and the museum's Beech A45 (T-34A) Mentor has been repainted in the likeness of the current U.S. Air Force T-6 Texan II.  These aircraft, and many more, can be seen when visiting the museum.  For more information, please visit http://www.aircombatmuseum.org/.

Special thanks to Mr. Mike George and Mr. Paul Voorhees for allowing The Aero Experience to visit and document the aircraft on display.
