Air Combat Museum In Springfield, IL Receives Stearman, Embarks on Painting Projects
By Carmelo Turdo
The Air Combat Museum, sponsored by George Alarm Company, has received a 1928 Stearman C3-B, one of the few remaining pre-Boeing Stearman aircraft. The aircraft is in immaculate condition, and joins the other flying aircraft at the museum in Springfield, IL. Also, several painting projects are underway. The wings of the museum's P-51D, "Worry Bird," are being repainted, and the museum's Beech A45 (T-34A) Mentor has been repainted in the likeness of the current U.S. Air Force T-6 Texan II. These aircraft, and many more, can be seen when visiting the museum.
