Cessna Demo Day and Civil Air Patrol Aircraft Display Hosted by Air Associates at Spirit of St. Louis Airport

By Carmelo Turdo
Air Associates of Missouri hosted Cessna Demo Day to encourage interest in pilot training and general aviation.  As a Cessna Pilot Center, Air Associates offers the most modern equipment and training methods available.  The local staff and Cessna representatives were very cordial and encouraging to the hundreds of visitors, many of which were children and young adults fascinated by the aircraft on the ramp.  The U.S. Air Force provided an A-10 static display and a B-2 made a low pass over the crowd, both aircraft based at Whiteman AFB near Kansas City, MO.  In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the local squadron, four aircraft from the Civil Air Patrol, the United States Air Force Auxiliary, were also present.

This type of event, complete with barbecue lunch, is an ideal way to promote general aviation at the local level, and The Aero Experience will continue to encourage all local airfields to do likewise throughout the year.
