Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

Greetings!

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Fair St. Louis Stages From St. Louis Downtown Airport for Independence Day Airshow

By Carmelo Turdo
Fair St. Louis featured afternoon and evening airshows on Independence Day, bringing back the tradition after a four-year absence due to construction at the Gateway Arch grounds. The Aero Experience visited the staging site, Ideal Aviation at St. Louis Downtown Airport, again Wednesday to capture the preparation and recovery of the aircraft featured in the airshows. Here we present a selection of the airshow performers, all of whom are top-tier entertainers known throughout the world. We thank Ideal Aviation, Fair St. Louis and the performers for their hospitality as we covered the airshow this week.

During our early morning visit to the Ideal Aviation hangar, we found Rob Holland's custom MXS-RH, Matt Younkin's Beech 18 and Bob Carlton's Super Salto jet sailplane:
