Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Sightings: VFA-41 "Black Aces" Super Hornet Makes Stop at TAC Air St. Louis

By Mark Nankivil
Today's "sighting" is an F/A-18F Super Honet from VFA-41 "Black Aces" of NAS Lemoore, CA on the ramp at TAC Air St. Louis.  Military aircraft like this Super Hornet are occasional visitors to TAC Air at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in the Chesterfield Valley, where the nearly 7500 foot runway can accommodate most tactical military aircraft.  The TAC Air facility provides refuelling services and a spacious terminal for crews to prepare for the next leg of the flight and relax for a bit before taking off again.  Special thanks to TAC Air for their hospitality.

Here are some views of the plane and crew heading out:
