EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016 included some Grumman Cats in the lineup, including a General Motors produced FM-2P Wildcat photo reconnaissance model and an F8F-2 Bearcat in the Blue Angels paint scheme. The Wildcat bore the brunt of U.S. naval operations in the early Pacific campaign, and the Bearcat followed the war as a successor to the Hellcat line. The Grumman line of naval aircraft helped turn the tide of the Pacific war, and will always be regaled as some of the finest radial-engine fighters ever produced.
