Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Warbirds - European Jet Trainers

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo warbird trainers are popular for many reasons, including good handling qualities, economical (relatively) operation, sparkling performance at low level, variety of available color schemes and the accommodation for actually training new crews for the type.  Here we feature two European jet trainers, models of which remain in active service in some countries.  The first jet warbird, the Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet, is owned by Mark Peterson of High Flight Aerobatics.  Following the Alpha Jet, several Siai-Marchetti S211 trainers are also included.  They are currently being marketed to civilian owners as a Very Light Jet option.
