EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Vintage Aircraft - Spartan Executive

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesinc.com/The Aero Experience concludes our year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016, sponsored by Air Associates, with this look at the gathering of Spartan Executives in the Vintage Area.  Eight of the twenty remaining aircraft of this type were on display, the largest gathering of Spartan Executives known since six were at the Tulsa, OK factory in 1937.  Thirty-four of these aircraft were produced from 1936-1940.  They were an advanced all-metal monoplane design, and as such were expensive and owned almost exclusively by oil company executives at the time.

We hope you enjoyed our fourth year of covering EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and check back for more great Midwest Aviation coverage in the second half 2017!

Thanks for posting this great memory from AirVenture 2016. Seeing eight Spartans parked in a row was truly a once in a lifetime occurrence. Several Spartans are tentatively scheduled to return to Oshkosh again this year.
