Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017: Aerobatic Aircraft - Vicki Cruse Educational Pavilion and Displays

By Fred Harl
The Aero Experience continues our coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 with a look at the aerobatic aircraft that gathered all during the week.  The centerpiece of the gathering was the Vicki Cruse Educational Pavilion near Boeing Plaza, the nexus of the daily activities on the grounds.

The Vicki Cruse Educational Pavilion was dedicated by the International Aerobatic Club (IAC) July 29, 2010 in honor of aerobatic pilot and IAC President Vicki Cruse who lost her life in an aircraft accident in 2009 while a member of the U.S. Unlimited Aerobatic Team.  During EAA AirVenture, the lobby area contains interesting exhibits and the IAC holds seminars in the meeting rooms daily.  A memorial stands outside of the front entrance, often adorned with flowers and messages.

Here is just a sample of the aerobatic aircraft on display around the pavilion:
