EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: General Aviation - More Cessna Singles

The Aero Experience continues our general aviation aircraft theme with a look at Cessna legacy single-engine aircraft from our signature year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation. These Cessna singles had been in production starting in the late 1940s, and each model offers inprovements in performance and utility. We include the two-seat Cessna 150 and 152 trainers and the progressively larger four-seat types as shown below. Some models of the Cardinal and Centurion offer retractable landing gear.

Here we include selected Cessna singles seen around the grounds from arrival weekend through departures on the following Saturday:

Cessna 150 and 152

Cessna 170

Cessna 175 Skylark

Cessna 177 Cardinal

Cessna 180

Sackman Field Fly-In Is Favorite Fall Community Aviation Event

By Carmelo Turdo
The Columbia Aero Club held their annual fall fly-in at Sackman Field in Columbia, IL Sunday. The fall fly-in is a favorite family-friendly event, usually held on a mid-October Sunday afternoon.  It is an occasion that attracts great friends, great food, and great aircraft! Virtually any type of general aviation, light sport, ultralight, vintage etc. can be seen some time during the day. Some new projects were underway in the hangars, and a few aircraft have changed hands over the years. Our friends Mark and Elaine Harter took center stage with their beautiful blue and white cabin Waco. Add some cars, motorcycles and food, and you have a great Midwest Aviation event. Here are some views of the day's activities.
