Midwest Aviation Aerodrome: Variety of Aircraft Found at Creve Coeur Airport
By Leo Cachet
The Midwest region is replete with local general aviation airports. One of those gems of the Midwest is Creve Coeur Airport, a privately-owned haven for antique aircraft and home of the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum just west of St. Louis. On any given weekend, a wide variety of aircraft dating from the 1920s to the present can be found in the pattern of the 4500'x75' runway or the adjacent grass runway. Attending the Waco Club or Monocoupe Club Fly-In there is an amazing experience, where one is transported back in time to the Golden Age of Aviation.
