The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Recent Blue Angels Visit to Boeing St. Louis Facility Brings Hornets Back to Their Home

By Mark Nankivil
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels aerial demonstration team visited the Boeing St. Louis production facility last month, bringing their F/A-18C Hornets back to their birthplace.  The team members toured the former McDonnell Douglas facility where the legacy Hornets were manufactured, and where the current Super Hornet and Growler aircraft continue to roll off the assembly lines.  Relatedly, a monument to St. Louis aviation heritage and the Blue Angels currently resides at the St. Louis Science Center - F/A-18B Blue Angels No. 7.  Here are some views of the Blue Angels aircraft when they arrived in St. Louis and the monument:
