Spirit Flyers Adds Second Aircraft, Invites new Members

The Aero Experience promotes Midwest Aviation by presenting positive stories about the aviation industry in our region and encouraging our audience to participate in aviation activities and events. Here we share an announcement that Spirit Flyers is expanding their membership opportunity by adding another aircraft. See the announcement below:

Greetings everyone! I am happy to announce that Spirit Flyers is ready to grow. We are adding a second airplane and would like to find 6 additional members. Pilot:Plane ratio will be 8:1. The planes are right next to each other at KSUS and we would love to speak with qualified pilots who are interested in joining us.

Spirit Flyers is a 501(c)7 not-for-profit club made up of ten local pilots. We have decided the time is right and the demand is sufficient to add a second airplane and grow to 16 members. Our planes are hangered right next to each other at KSUS and our members have access to them via an online scheduling system. We meet monthly and also have the occasional social event.

We’ve owned a PA32R-301T (Turbo Saratoga) for the last few years and we’re the only club in the area to have such a plane available for our members. The Saratoga is loaded with almost every available option including club seating, factory air conditioning and 6-place oxygen. This plane is no hangar queen!  Members have recently flown her to Niagara Falls, The Bahamas, Florida, Virginia Beach, Mackinac Island, Gulf Shores and closer destinations like WI, KY, TN, AR, OH, IN and IL.

The Arrow we’re adding to the club has been owned by a current member for 17+ years and will create a pathway for new members with fewer hours to move up to the Saratoga as well as provide a relief aircraft for those flying shorter trips.

Our current members range in experience from retired airline/military folks to a couple of newer pilots with less than 1,000 hours.

See the graphic below for more information on the aircraft or contact us at info@spiritflyers.org.

Sincerely,
Ben Shakman
