EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Boeing Plaza - Lockheed WP-3D Orion

The Aero Experience continues our coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, with this look at the NOAA Lockheed WP-3D Orion "Hurricane Hunter." This aircraft, Sky Hopper, has over 100 mission markings from 35 countries dating back to the 1970s. This model of the venerable P-3 Orion family is primarily used for atmospheric research, including hurricane tracking and data collection using radar and other sensors. Here we show the arrival and display of the aircraft in Boeing Plaza.
