EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Boeing Plaza - C-5M Super Galaxy
The Aero Experience continues our
coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, with a
look at the Lockheed Martin C-5M Super Galaxy on static display in Boeing Plaza.
The massive cargo jet, deployed from Travis Air Force Base, CA was available
for public exhibit. The Super Galaxy incorporates significant modernization of
the original design - uprated GE CF6 engines, modern cockpit avionics, improved
cargo management systems - that improve the mission capability, efficiency and
reliability of the aircraft. It was a
crowd favorite - its size not only providing a natural curiosity but also
shelter from both the sun and the rain during the week!
