Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013: North American Trainers - T-6 Texan and T-28 Trojan

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo American Aviation produced two aircraft in succession that trained military aviators in all flying services from the 1930s to the 1960s - the AT-6/SNJ Texan and the T-28 Trojan series.  The aircraft were also used for forward air control missions in Korea and counterinsurgency operations in Vietnam, respectively.  They are the most recognizable radial-engine trainers of the era, and The Aero Experience would like to share our views of these aircraft from EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013.
