Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013: Warbirds - The Big Bombers

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo Aero Experience continues our special series from EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013, sponsored by Air Associates of Missouri and Air Associates of Kansas, with a collection of warbirds - the big bombers!  The classic U.S. bombers of World War II, the B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and B-29 Superfortress, were available for close inspection during the week.  We feature B-17G "Yankee Lady" from the Yankee Air Museum in Yspilanti, Michigan and B-24A "Diamond Lil" and B-29A Superfortress "Fifi" from the Commemorative Air Force B-29/B-24 Squadron in Addison, Texas.  These aircraft regularly tour the country when not in Oshkosh, and we encourage everyone to welcome the crews and support their efforts to preserve these aircraft.
